Manou Barrett is the creator of Pawsome Tales, a collection of heart-warming stories inspired by her lifelong love of dogs, animals and the natural world. * Born in Thuringia, Germany, in 1969, Manou grew up on a small homestead in the former GDR, surrounded by animals and the simple pleasures of country life. * Her love of food eventually led her to train as a chef, and her career took her to different parts of Europe, including Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands, before she moved to England in 2003. * Today, Manou lives in Gloucestershire with her beloved dogs Daisy, Genie and Blaze — the real-life inspiration behind some of the characters who have found their way into her stories. * For Manou, writing is about creating little worlds where kindness matters, friendship is treasured, courage can be found in unexpected places, and even the smallest adventure can become something magical. Her stories are written to encourage children to believe in wonder, while gently reminding them of the importance of love, hope and looking after one another. * When she isn't writing, Manou enjoys spending time with her family and animals, exploring nature, reading, photography, cooking and baking.
