Vladimir was born in Brno, the second largest city in the Check Republic, where he trained and worked as an electrician. He later moved to Chicago, spending thirteen years there as a truck driver, before returning home to Brno, all the while nursing a lifelong desire to write a book. Back in Brno, the twenty twenty five blackout in Spain struck him deeply, and he found the theme he’d been searching for, beginning a novel originally titled BLACKOUT. Partway through, a new idea seized his imagination, a psychological thriller about a man named Aidan and a woman named Sarah, who knows more about him than he does, and Vladimir set the first project aside to write it. That novel, titled AI, became his first completed manuscript. He’s now finishing that original project, since renamed Hour of the Wolf, an aviation disaster novel centered on a catastrophic blackout at a metropolitan airport, with whatever comes next still an open question.
